November 26th

Today we looked at the Themes in the Timeline: which were the rise of political parties, dictators, new laws and attacks on Jewish People from the 1920's to 1930's. We then explored the narrative building up to the War. The students participated in a read and sketch where we listened to the narrative then drew out what we were hearing on a piece of paper.

Today we began our unit on Government. The Students worked on an assignment in their workbook entitled "Foundations of Government"

November 27th

Today we explored what makes a good leader. The students created criteria for what makes a good leader and then participated in a gallery walk. Afterwords we looked at some Quotes from a specific leader to assess whether or not we should judge a person based on the things they say or rather there actions.
Students then went on google to find an inspirational quote from a WWII leader and then posted it on our wall.

Today we explored the Charter of Rights and Freedoms in Canada and began to gain a deeper knowledge of what our rights our as citizens.
Students then responded to the Charter on some questions in their workbook.

Today we explored some of the Causes of WWII including the Treaty of Versailles, the Alliance System, the Rise of Dictators, and the League of Nations. Afterwords we watched a film series entitled "WWII in Color - Episode 1 - The Gathering Storm"
