October 15th

Socials 10

Today students worked on finishing their essays in class. The essay was on whether or not the Great Gatsby was an accurate or in-accurate portrayal of the 1920's. The essay will be due at the end of class.

Today students continued working on exploring Volcanoes and volcanic activity throughout the world in class.

October 16th

Socials 10

Today we began our exploration of the 1920's from the perspective of Canadians. We looked at Prohibition in Canada as well as the Spanish Flu.

The students did a reading afterwords which can be found here.

Today students had class time to finish their workbook on Earthquakes.

Socials 10

Today we began watching the film Dante's Peak. We will be writing an essay afterwords as to whether or not this film offers a fictional or non-fictional account of volcanoes and their activity.

Today students looked at the Winnipeg General Strike as well as the Booming Economy in Canada.
