English 9

Today we began a new unit entitled "People Problems". We are examining the problems that individuals face from peer pressure, to racism, to sexism in our society. We are exploring this by looking at films from the past 100 years.

The first film we are looking at is "The Fiddler on the Roof".

Today we went outside for Silent Reading (I was so proud of my students for their behaviour out there!)

We also began working on our own individual Essays.

The students were tasked with finding a topic (it can be anything), asking questions in order to develop an opinion on the subject, then deciding how they could argue that with three points.

Today, Students went downstairs to work in the computer lab on creating their bibliographies. They were then tasked with working on beginning their project in class.
