Day 1 - January 29th
English 9
Today in class we began our exploration of Literature Circles. Students were introduced to the process behind a literature circle, the reasoning behind it, some of the various roles in the groups and the topic we will be exploring: Teen Issues.
Afterwords, the students explored the usage of Homophones. These are words which sound the same but are spelled different and have different meanings. Students then practiced their usage of these different words.

Today in class we began our Novel Study of the Outsiders. We began with a few different exercises in the classroom to begin to understand how we often judge people based on appearances. We then read Ch.1 of The Outsiders.

Today we continued our exploration of the French Revolution. We looked at the Women's March on Versailles, the Flight to Varennes, The Legislative Assembly and the formation of The Declaration of Rights of Citizens and Men.
Students worked on a hand out comparing the two declarations from the American/French Revolution.
