Socials 9
Today we began the French Revolution (1789-1799). We explored the calling of the Estates General where the 1st, 2nd and 3rd estate met to look at making some tax reforms for the country. Unfortunately the 3rd estate decided to go down a different path. They broke away from the Estates General and formed their own government known as the 'National Assembly', with the 1st and 2nd estate eventually joining them as per request of the King.

Today in class we learned about the different types of trials and courts that existed during the middle ages. Students focused on understanding the Trial by Ordeal: whereby people would try different activities to decide whether they were innocent or guilty, as well as Trial by Battle where they would fight to the death to determine who was innocent or guilty.
We worked in our pathways textbook page 56-59 and answered the first four questions on the activities (pg. 59)
