January 8th/9th


Welcome back Students. I hope you had a most relaxing and enjoyable Christmas Break! Now it is time to get back into the swing of things!

Day 1

Socials 9

Today we began working on the French Revolution. Students were tasked with doing some questions from the Crossroads textbook, pages 56-61, as well as given an interactive notebook note guide.

English 8

Students were asked to hand in their copies of the 'Home Alone' creative writing assignment. This assignment was (2) entries each (1) paragraph in length about what they would do if they were 'Home Alone' for a week.

Today in class we looked at the power of images and how they can be used for creative writing purposes. Students were then tasked with writing a creative writing prompt on 'The Gulf Stream' by Winslow Homer. Students wrote a paragraph from the perspective of the person on the boat and the shark in the water.

We also worked on the following worksheets which focus on word choice, pronouns and overused words.

Today we continued with what happens in England following William the Conqueror's invasion after his victory at the Battle of Hastings in 1066 CE. William the Conqueror introduced Feudalism to England and with it brought the Manorial System.
