Day 2 - November 16th

Today we explored the end of the Carolignian Empire which was established by Pepin the Short and Charles the Great (Charlemagne) during the 8th century in present day France.
Students then were tasked with creating a map of Charlemagne's Empire which can be found in their pathways textbook (pg. 25)

Today we finished off the notes on the French and Indian War. We then began a movie, entitled "The Last of the Mohicans" which explores this war in depth and looking at how war effected the lives of those on the frontier. Students were tasked with answering questions on the movie as we progressed through it.

Day 1 - November 17th
English 8
Today we went through a powerpoint which examined the various terms used in Poetry. Students were then tasked with finding examples of these terms in the 'Inside Poetry' textbook. Students were lastly introduced to how songs are a form of poetry and we looked at 'Gym Class Heroes' as an example of poetry. Students then annotated their thoughts on the side of the poem.
