Good Morning :)
Block A/F
Today we explored the Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizens. This document written by Marquis de Lafayette and assisted by Thomas Jefferson, that guy who wrote the Declaration of Independence for the Americans, discussed how liberty and equality could be given to all citizens of France. However, we also discussed that all doesn't mean all - it didn't include slaves, minorities or women.
Afterwords we did a Privilege Walk. We explored our own privileges that exist within our society that are often unnoticed or talked about. Things such as the ability to go outside for walks at night, to how are ethnicities are portrayed often times in the media.
We then debriefed and worked on our journal entries for the day.
Block BD/EH
Today we had our Medieval Tournament! We competed in the Joust, in the Melee a Pied, and in Hawking. We ate some biscuits, and jam, and we had some great tournament champions!

In our second block we talked about writing essays and will begin an essay shortly on the video, "A Knight's Tale" which is a tale of a thatcher who desires to become a knight and falsifies his past in order to enter into tournaments to joust. Students will be writing an essay in regards to whether or not the video portrays an accurate or inaccurate version of the medieval ages! We then began to watch a Knight's Tale!
