Welcome Back Everyone!
I hope you had a fantastic Spring Break! I'm quite excited to begin teaching you today, as we have some exciting subjects underway.
Grade 9's - A/F Block
Today we looked at the causes that lead up to the French Revolution. These include the massive debt that France had incurred due to the Seven Years War and their assistance in the American Revolution, as well as debt from the Palace of Versailles being built by King Louie XIV. There were also economic causes such as the high price of bread, the lack of employment in France, and the wheat shortages due to severe weather. Social conditions such as feudalism, high taxes for the third estate contributed to these issues.
I've attached the notes from today here.
No Homework :)
Grade 8's - B/D/E/H Block
Today we reviewed the history that has lead us to the Middle Ages, looking at the fall of the Roman Empire, Charlemagne's France, the Rise of Islam, the Viking Attacks that pushed Europe into the Dark Ages, and the beginning of the High Middle Ages. We watched a 3 minute video which highlights some of the amazing inventions and ideas that emerged during this time.
We also filled out a timeline, which you can access here.
We took some notes on how to become a knight which you can access here.
We also began working on our Middle Ages journal, which you can access here.
No Homework :)
